Animal welfare

Animal welfare & protection

Animal abuse and mistreatment is a cruel reality that affects countless animals worldwide. Many animals suffer from neglect, physical violence
and emotional abuse, often without the ability to defend themselves. The protection of animals is not only a moral
duty, but a necessity for a civilized and compassionate society.

Animal welfare & protection

The number of animals that need our help is constantly increasing and includes abandoned and mistreated pets as well as animals from abusive conditions and injured wild animals.

Animal abuse is also a sign of larger social problems. Studies have shown that people who mistreat animals are often also violent towards humans. One study found that in 88% of households where child abuse occurs, animals are also mistreated.

According to the German Animal Welfare Association, there are around 300,000 to 500,000 animals in German animal shelters every year. The exact number of animals taken in due to mistreatment is difficult to determine, but animal shelters report a very high number of cases of neglect and mistreatment.

Animal welfare also plays a crucial role in environmental protection. Many mistreated animals are wild animals or belong to endangered species whose protection is essential for the balance of our ecosystems.

As sentient beings, animals are capable of feeling joy and sadness, fear and love. It is our responsibility to respect and protect these rights. By preventing and combating animal abuse, we are also helping to combat violence in society.

Together we are already helping to give animals a new and protected life. This creates special places where, for example, children have the opportunity to learn in contact with animals and nature and can develop in a relaxed manner.
