The importance of protecting the Amazon:

Climate stabilization: The Amazon binds enormous amounts of carbon dioxide and helps to regulate the global climate. Its preservation is crucial in the fight against climate change.

Biodiversity: The Amazon is home to millions of species, many of which are unique and can only be found there. Its conservation is essential for the protection of global biodiversity.

Basis of life for people: Millions of indigenous peoples and local communities are directly dependent on the resources of the Amazon and live in close relationship with their natural environment.

Water balance: The rainforest influences the water balance of the entire South American continent and contributes to the fertility of the soil and the availability of drinking water.

Protecting and preserving the Amazon rainforest is one of our most important contributions. By purchasing plots of land, we enable the protection of large areas of forest, secure habitats for fauna and animals, preserve biodiversity and support sustainable projects there in the medium term.

What have we already achieved? We, as Positive Global Change e.V. , are currently in the process of acquiring 25 hectares of land in the natural rainforest, a designated nature conservation area, which corresponds to 250,000 m2. In addition, we are preparing further acquisitions of the nature reserve in the Amazon to enable the protection of the "rainforest".
